Effie Schneider is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. She is supervised by Dr. Mee-Gaik Lim PhD., LPC-S, LMFT-S, AAMFT-S, and Shannon Schimelpfening, MA, LPC-S, RPT. She offers sessions at a reduced rate. Effie is not able to accept insurance and is considered out-of-network. We can provide a superbill for you to file with your insurance for possible reimbursement. You may also use HSA benefits.

Effie has served in the United States Air Force.  She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology from Park University. She began teaching at the elementary level both in general and special education.  Most of her career has been spent working with young people, and their families, through school-based programs.  She received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University.  She became a certified School Counselor in a local ISD, then moved on to become a School-Based Mental Health Regional Coordinator with a charter school in San Antonio.
 
Effie has a love for learning, continuing to sharpen her skills by attending conferences and workshops.  She enjoys working with children, teens, and families.  Effie also has a passion for working with women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. 

Effie has a wide variety of experience working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, impulse control, relationship challenges, self-esteem, and trauma.  Her experience working in schools, as both an educator and school counselor, gives her the edge in helping families navigate issues children, teens, and their families face when working with schools to solve problems.  Effie is a compassionate counselor eager to help people.  She works to help clients identify goals and form strategies to reach them. Effie sees clients ages 8 and up.
